Glutamate in Mental Health: Medicines and Mechanisms 2027

Monday 22 – Tuesday 23 March 2027
Blavatnik School of Government, Oxford

Welcome

This conference has been postponed to take place from Monday 22 -Tuesday 23 March 2027.

Formerly known as Ketamine and Related Compounds, Glutamate in Mental Health: Medicines and Mechanisms 2027 is a forum for top researchers and experienced and interested clinicians to learn from each other about the therapeutic use of glutamatergic compounds for affective disorders.

Sessions will range widely. From discussion of practice-defining large RCTs to exciting preclinical mechanistic studies, from the operation of clinics using glutamatergic drugs such as ketamine in real-world settings to updates on the regulation of new devices and formulations to consideration of novel compounds – the full breadth of activity will be covered.

The Blavatnik School of Government has state of the art conferencing facilities and regularly hosts international symposia and events. There is a range of options for authors of in-person posters. All presentations will be available online*, on demand, after the conference.

The conference debate, welcome reception and conference dinner are perfect opportunities to meet fellow researchers and clinicians and will be hosted at Rhodes House, a historic Grade II* listed country house in the heart of the city.

Designed to support the School’s mission of inspiring and promoting better government around the world, the Blavatnik School of Government’s award-winning building provides a purpose-built home for a vibrant academic community.

It was developed by internationally renowned architects Herzog & de Meuron.

The building has been hailed as a stunning new addition to Oxford’s historic skyline, and most of all through its design represents the values of openness, collaboration and transparency that are key to the School’s overall mission of improving public policy.

‘Inside, the building is quite simply breathtaking. It is one of those rare moments in architecture when the spirit soars. This is a modern cathedral of learning that at the same time stimulates, soothes and excites. […] It is a truly inspirational piece of design and one so fitting for its purpose’
